It’s a cycling revolution!

 

There is nothing that I find more invigorating than a high energy Cycling Class. It is a full body workout that is made Super fun by lively and motivating music. In addition to getting a great leg and abs workout, it is ultimate for detoxing and clearing your mind. There are an array of great physical and mental benefits achieved for people of all fitness levels.

 

Let’s Get Physical, Physical

Physical Benefits are endless. I guarantee this class will change your body. Classes involve interval training; you will go from heavy tension standing walks to seated sprints. Your heart rate will go from aerobic (50-85% of max) to anaerobic (85-92% max). What’s better than strengthening your muscles while cutting the risk of heart disease?  You can expect to lose around 500 to 800 calories per class depending on your intensity level. Lose weight, tone muscles and lower blood pressure all in one sitting.  

 

Where’s your head at?

As in all exercise, Cycling is great for stress relief and clearing your mind. It is a motivational boost that also stimulates regenerative sleep. While you’re in class you are encouraged to let your mind be free, hang your head and just go with the beat. A great lesson to apply across all aspects of life. In addition, each revolution is a spin closer to improved brain power. Cycling increases blood flow and oxygen to the brain. I personally think this is Awesome. As a writer, sometimes I get blocked. Once I get in a good spin, I feel less intimidated by the blinking cursor.

Suggestions:

I advise you invest in a seat cover especially if you are cycling more than once a week. It will protect your butt bones from getting sore. Also, I suggest investing in cycling shoes that clip into the pedals. It relieves tension in the balls of your feet, and you will not have to worry about sliding out of the pedal straps. These two purchases will ensure for a more enjoyable spinning experience.
