Ever have a deadline in your head, or a plan for your day, or the way something that must be done? Yet, when you take a step back and look at it…it's a bit arbitrary or at least dogmatic in a sense that it's not the only way. But somehow in your mind, you've made it the only way? When you get into those moments, take the shackles off your mind and let it free.
The mind is one of the most powerful tools we have, when we use it that way., as a tool I mean. However, without Awareness and some level of Flexibility it can become a master of control. Then instead of being one of the most powerful tools you have, it becomes one of oppression, self-oppression and potentially that of others.
The saying mind over matter goes real deep. Literally changing your 'mind' about something, equivalently your thoughts or perception can open up your world to a whole new possibility; one that wasn't even visible before. If nothing else it can relieve stress, remove barriers, and allow you to see the opportunity at your fingertips. It requires you to be ready.
If something is stressing you, there seems to be no way, it feels stuck, or too hard, try on there is another way. A way that allows for an equivalnet outcome, if not better, in a more expansive and joyful way.
Try on, not knowing all the answers. Try on seeing a different way to move through your day, or achieve a deadline. Practice being flexible in your thoughts. I understand accountability, and follow through, I am not saying give that up. I AM saying be flexible in the way you honor your commitments and responsibilities.
Three practices to create more freedom and flexibilty are:
1) Meditation increases awareness and creates space
2) Self-Love is an immediate access point to joy, freedom, and more love
3) Compassion and Forgiveness creates space, understanding, and allows for clarity
All of these require a level of surrender, which creates space and expansion. Practice them and watch the thought viruses, means, dogmatic beliefs melt away. Then stand up and see.
